To support the demanding mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), LAC Group created a Knowledge Services Center (KSC). The KSC integrates several activities into a single entity, including the USAID Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC), USAID Library, research services and knowledge management. The overall goal is to bring together the best of library science, human factors engineering and web technologies to deliver a cost-effective solution for sharing knowledge. It provides USAID’s offices, researchers, and employees the right methodologies and tools to organize and mine collected knowledge.

In addition to staffing a full-service Reference Desk during business hours, LAC Reference Librarians provide virtual service to USAID patrons and the public.  We provide an orientation to the KSC as part of the Agency’s mandatory new employee briefings, hold open houses, participate in Agency knowledge fairs and provide training on the use of resources available.  We publish a monthly electronic newsletter that includes news of acquisitions, technology developments, and services and also provide presentation assistance.

To support the USAID mission, LAC Group provides experts in economic growth/agriculture development, democracy and governance, humanitarian assistance, human capacity development, health populations and nutrition, environment/natural resources and developmental generalists.  Our researchers provide in-depth assistance to USAID HQ and field staff on specialized developmental queries, including annotated bibliographies, detailed analyses and complex statistical reports.
