SILENT LEGEND: THE MACK SENNETT STORY is a documentary that explores the life of silent era filmmaker Mack Sennett. From his home in rural Quebec to New York City and finally onto Los Angeles, Sennett cemented a name for himself as a visionary in modern film with his groundbreaking work in comedic cinema during the silent era.stan-taffel-mack-sennett-film

Through archival materials and expert interviews, the film offers a portrait of the film pioneer throughout his tenure as Hollywood’s “King of Comedy”. From his bumbling Keystone Kops to flying custard pies and delicate bathing beauties, this documentary illustrates the changing tides in Hollywood during the late 1920s and early 1930s and the changing tastes of its viewers. SILENT LEGEND: THE MACK SENNETT STORY is the first of its kind to showcase Sennett as a man devoted to laughter and excitement, both on and off the big screen.

While the premiere screening is sold out, Taffel expects future showings. If interested, send him a note and he will keep you posted.
