The Client: A pharmaceutical company, headquartered in Seattle, asked LAC Group to provide a strategic action plan for on-site and virtual library services for their Seattle headquarters plus offices in San Francisco and a production facility in Montana.
The Issue: The pharmaceutical company’s primary objectives were to significantly broaden the user base beyond scientists, to revitalize library operations and to promote library services.
The Solution: LAC Group consulted with the management team of this niche pharmaceutical company (since acquired by a global conglomerate). The team conducted an extensive user needs survey and assessment and a full evaluation of their existing library operations, then provided a library roadmapping plan for guidance. We helped the company achieve its objectives by placing part-time librarians at their Seattle and South San Francisco offices, supplemented by virtual off-site reference support and document retrieval. LAC Group then worked to smoothly transition library services after the acquisition was completed.
