Curt Smith is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the LAC Group of companies overseeing the consolidated financial strategy. He brings with him over 25 years of finance and operational experience including private equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, development of new revenue streams, business process re-engineering and systems implementation across multiple industries. At LAC Group, Curt is responsible for global financial operations including accounting, tax, treasury, financial planning, M&A and investor relations.
Before joining LAC Group, Curt served as a CFO consultant for NeoSystems, developing its emerging commercial consulting practice and driving the financial strategy for several clients. He was also the first CFO for PARCC, Inc., a Washington DC-based NGO charged with developing the nationally mandated assessment testing exams for public schools. While at PARCC, Curt managed the start-up of the organization and successfully transferred the $185mm US Department of Education grant from the state-based fiscal agent to the NGO’s responsibility. He was also instrumental in establishing the organization’s post-grant self-funding business model.
Prior to PARCC, Curt was the CFO for AgileAssets, an enterprise software company that developed transportation asset management software and service to federal, state and foreign transportation departments. He also has held executive finance and operations positions with Troux Technologies, Bridgepoint Consulting, ON Networks, Verio, Inc. as well as six years of public accounting experience with a national CPA firm.
Curt earned a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University as well as a CPA license from both Texas and Colorado.
