National Library of Education Open House

Home News National Library of Education Open House

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, Department of Education staff flocked to the Library Open House, and they discovered how the National Library of Education (NLE) offers more than meets the eye.

The open house was attended by 53 Department of Education employees, most of whom had never used NLE services. Library staff fielded seven substantive research requests.

Carol Bradwell welcomes attendees to the NLE Open House.

Between networking and browsing the library space, attendees could be found:

  • Placing research requests with librarians.
  • Viewing live demos of online research tools, including ERIC.
  • Learning how to get journal articles and books for free.
  • Signing up for the NLE’s exclusive weekly NewsWatch newsletter.

Participants also got up close and personal with some of the Library’s newest online research tools, including Education Source, ProQuest NewsStand, and Web of Science.

LAC Group employees Karen White, April Knepp and Cindy Nelson planned the event, including space planning and promotional activities.
